The addiction continues
These two simply refuse to give up the heated throw. They are addicted to it. Glad they are getting along and can share it. Just wish they would share it with me!

Snow in the afternoon
Another afternoon of snow. Luckily it was short lived and did not even stick. More snow predicted Monday supposedly a plowable amount. Oh joy!

A little Chamber business
I photographed the Mayor's Breakfast in Melrose this morning. The event, always a favorite of the business community, was very well attended. Lots of opportunity for candid shots. I had a great time.

Sundown you better take care
The sunset was brilliant again. Temps dropped so fast in the afternoon and the wind was howling. Even putting the trash and recycling outside was a chore with the wind chill as it was. Spring is coming, right?

Sunday Breakfast
One of my favorites for breakfast is Eggs Benedict. I decided to be a little bit good by substituting spinach for the Canadian bacon. I also had fruit instead of potatoes. I enjoyed every bite of it at Aroma Café in Reading this morning.

A Family Gathering
My cousin Colin (2nd from left) is going into the military tomorrow. The Marines to be exact. We had a gathering at my cousin Beth's house to send him off and wish

No McMansions here
Sometimes my job takes me to places that make me uncomfortable. I meet customers at their convenience. When I parked across from this house today, I was glad it was daytime.

Throwback Thursday and National Love Your Pet Day
It's National Love Your Pet Day and on Twitter Purina asked for photos of your cat as a kitten. Percy is the only one of my brood that I got as a true kitten. So here's one of my favorite kitten photos. He loved that little mousey and used to carry it around in his mouth. I love his little pink nose. It's still just as pink today.

Cozy by the Fire
The weather outside is a slushy mess. That slushy mess will probably freeze overnight. So glad we are indoors and cozy by the fire.

Snow fatigue
Yeah that's right. I am so over it. Sick of scraping the windshield everytime I go out, sick of stepping in slushy streets and having to wear boots, sick of looking like the Michelin Man in all my layers of clothes and waking up to the sound of the snowplow in the middle of the night. I have a bad case of snow fatigue.

Sit around and wait
My Dad is in the hospital today and they are keeping him overnight. My sister and I spent many hours waiting with him in the emergency room today. He looked better when we left him this afternoon. I have never seen the emergency room so busy. They did not have a room for him for hours and we were all waiting in the hallway. Hoping he will return home soon.

An idyllic spot
I think the duck pond in Winchester is pretty any day of the year but it is never more beautiful than during a snowstorm. It actually reminds a little bit of Japan. A peaceful spot to sit or stand and take in all it's beauty.

Happy Valentine's Day
I didn't get the chance to scout out a good Valentine's Day spot for a photo today. But I did meet a friend for coffee this afternoon. It was my last chance to shoot a Valentine's pic. And there was Tim, the owner of the coffee shop in what I am calling his Sochi Olympics hat. Standing behind the Valentine's heart, it was too perfect. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

The Victorian
Another day, another snowstorm. Crazy weather! As I was driving home from work I noticed how pretty my friend's hair salon looked in the snow, So I had to jump out and snap a pic. I took the shot using instagram so it is cropped a little weird. Oh well, still pretty.

A little retail therapy
My friend owns a Victorian home and her hair salon is one of the tenants. Tonight we held a shopping night in the space. I sold a few things and we will continue to do special nights monthly.
I would love to have a store of my own but that's not happening. So this is the best of both worlds, I get a space to sell some things without the headache of a store.

It looks like Alaska
I took this shot as I was leaving work today. The Winter sky was brilliant as the sun was setting tonight. The shot I wanted to take I couldn't because I was driving. As I drove around Spot Pond I felt as if I was in Alaska. The pond, covered with snow, looked like it went for miles and miles. At the end of the horizon, a row of very tall trees and the sky could have been a watercolor with muted shades of pink and blue. It was magnificent. Wish I could have captured it for you. Will keep trying!

Cupid's Tea
Today I attended an afternoon tea at a friend's house. She has a beautiful home and had a catered lunch for us. Afterwards, we made Valentines. We had a great time!

A tea tasting
A few weeks ago, Jolie Tea Company in Hamilton had a tea tasting of their Dr. Zhivago blend tea. They were going to use a samovar to serve the tea. I love samovars and have an interest in Russia and Dr. Zhivago but I couldn't go to the tasting. Today in honor of the Sochi Olympics, they had a tasting of their Russian Caravan tea and I was happy to attend the event. The tea was delicious and I had a great time chatting with the staff.

The day after
The day after the storm is always so pretty. The glare from the snow can be blinding so sunglasses are in order. The snow is so clean and bright, if only for one day.

Another Snowstorm
We had a foot of snow today. It's February so it's kind of getting old now. I really have to clean out the garage.

Afternoon coffee break
I worked from home in the morning. Before heading into the office this afternoon, I stopped for a cappuccino break at D'Amici's Bakery in Melrose. It's amazing the height you can get from foaming skim milk. Quite delicious and just the energy I needed to go back to work.

Sunday Open House
I did an open house today with a realtor friend of mine. I am in the mortgage business so I was there to answer financing questions. Cute little home. Such a busy open house! There is not much inventory of homes out there right now but lots of buyers. Hopefully there were multiple offers.

February- A Month of Romance
Meet my grandparents, Gertrude and Charles. We think the photo is about 90 years old. Such a sweet photo of a young woman and her WW1 Veteran/husband.
Sadly, Gram as we called her, died 45 years ago today. Charles died in the 1950's. I did not know him at all.
I thought I would post this photo since February is a month known for romance. I think these two had a wonderful romance all those years ago.
