Winter is cool

I went for a little retail therapy this evening. There is a newer mall in my area called Market Street. Most of the stores are now open and there is even a little skating rink there. Some young girls from a skating club were putting on an exhibition and with snow falling and the trees illuminated it looked like a Winter Wonderland.

The rink is open to the public every day. I haven't skated in a few years but it sure looked like fun. Think I might have to go back there during a quiet time and practice my skating.

Deep freeze in Melrose

This is the spot where the Farmer's Markets are held in Melrose. In Summertime, it is filled with vendors selling fruits, vegetables, breads, and crafts. Today it is an impromptu skating rink. It was not intentionally flooded by the city for public skating. The rains pre-Polar Vortex flooded the area and now it is ice. There was a lone skater but she did not last long outside in the frigid temps.
