Snow in the afternoon

Another afternoon of snow. Luckily it was short lived and did not even stick. More snow predicted Monday supposedly a plowable amount. Oh joy!

Winter is cool

I went for a little retail therapy this evening. There is a newer mall in my area called Market Street. Most of the stores are now open and there is even a little skating rink there. Some young girls from a skating club were putting on an exhibition and with snow falling and the trees illuminated it looked like a Winter Wonderland.

The rink is open to the public every day. I haven't skated in a few years but it sure looked like fun. Think I might have to go back there during a quiet time and practice my skating.

Winter Cottage

Winter Cottage. Just the name is inviting. I absolutely love the Cottage series of magazines. These are special since they come out seasonally.

Can't wait to read it this weekend!

A little Winter vignette

I hated to do it but I took down the Christmas greenery. It was not real anyway but I liked the  look of it and the twinkle lights on it. In it's place, I set up a little Winter vignette. The trees are usually on display at Christmas but not this year. So now they are making an appearance along with the vintage figure skates. Thinking about an Olympics party but not sure yet. I used to have one every four years and I would invite friends over to watch the opening ceremonies. Fun times!

A little bit of green

I still have my Christmas greenery up on the mantel.  I took the vintage ornaments down and the other lanterns in favor of a winter look but I love the greenery with lights. I am just not ready to give it up yet.

Bracing for a Noreaster. Up to 24 inches of snow possible in my little corner of New England. The Christmas decorations are still up on the Common giving a little color to an otherwise wintry white scene.
